20 Phuket Restaurants That Will Blow Your Mind
Start with Su Va Na for the most jaw-dropping special occasion dinner on the island, or hit Chillva Market for incredible street food under 200 baht. Both are unmissable.
I came to Thailand once and then I just kept coming back. If I am being completely honest, a huge part of that is the food.
Phuket has one of the most exciting dining scenes in Southeast Asia. It goes so far beyond the pad thai and fried rice that most tourists stick to. From an underwater restaurant surrounded by 25,000 live marine animals to a secret spot you can only reach by boat, this list has some genuinely extraordinary gems that most visitors completely miss.
These are my honest top 20 favourite restaurants and experiences in Phuket in 2026. Every single one is worth making the effort for.
๐ Street food and markets
Chillva Market, My absolute favourite place to eat in Phuket. Ten minutes from Phuket Town, it comes alive in the evenings with hundreds of vendors. You can eat extremely well for under 200 baht and the atmosphere is electric with locals and tourists all mixed together.
Phuket Sunday Night Market, The Sunday Walking Street Market in Phuket Old Town transforms every Sunday evening into a stunning outdoor food and craft market with fairy lights, live music, and the most incredible smell of food cooking over open flames.

๐ฅ Phuket Town dining
Suay Restaurant, A creative fusion of Thai and international cuisine in Phuket Town that would not look out of place in any major European city. The prices will genuinely surprise you in the best possible way. Perfect for a celebration dinner.
3 Monkeys Restaurant, The breakfast and brunch spot that gets recommended by absolutely everyone who has been to Phuket. A beloved local favourite known for its relaxed atmosphere, brilliant food, and genuinely warm service. It instantly feels like your regular even on your first visit.
๐ Seafood and cliffside
Kan Eang @ Pier, A legendary local institution at Chalong Bay that has been serving exceptional Thai seafood for decades. Right on the waterfront with beautiful bay views. Most of the tables are locals, which tells you everything you need to know. Book ahead for sunset.
Acqua Restaurant, A fine dining seafood experience in Kalim Beach combining Italian influences with the freshest local Thai ingredients. Direct ocean views, a menu that changes with the seasons, and one of the most impressive wine lists on the island. Book well in advance.
Baan Rim Pa, A cliffside icon perched dramatically between Kalim Bay and Patong Beach in a stunning traditional teak house. Every table has a breathtaking panoramic view over the Andaman Sea. It specialises in Royal Thai Cuisine, the exquisite style historically created for the Thai royal family, with a pianist playing jazz and blues as you dine. It has been wowing diners since the 1970s and you will immediately understand why.
๐ Sunset and views
Number 6 on the Hill, One of my favourite discoveries in Phuket. Sister restaurant to the popular Number 6 in Patong, the views from up here are spectacular. There is even a completely free taxi shuttle that picks you up from the Patong Number 6. Excellent Thai cuisine at very reasonable prices.
Baba Poolclub, Perched above stunning Kata Noi Beach with panoramic ocean views at The Shore at Katathani Resort. Expertly crafted cocktails and beautifully presented Thai and Mediterranean dishes as the sun goes down over the Andaman Sea. Special occasion prices, but the setting is breathtaking.
โ Cafes and unique stays
Ma Doo Bua Cafe, One of the most photographed locations in all of Phuket. This stunning cafe is surrounded by thousands of beautiful lily pads on a peaceful lake. The photo opportunities are extraordinary and prices are very reasonable. What most people do not know is that Ma Doo Bua is also a hotel, making it one of the most unique accommodation experiences on the island.
๐ก Dinner experiences and shows
Su Va Na, I have never seen anything like this anywhere in the world. The award-winning World's Best Underwater Restaurant is located inside Central Phuket Floresta, seating you surrounded by over 25,000 live marine animals and 300 species swimming past in real time. There is even a live mermaid performance during dinner. The 13-course tasting menu by Chef Atanu Nath combines European techniques with premium ingredients like Hokkaido scallop, Canadian lobster and Patagonian toothfish. A special occasion restaurant with prices to match. Vegetarian and vegan menus available. Book early.
Dinner in the Sky Phuket, You are strapped into a seat on a platform and lifted 50 metres into the air above Phuket while you eat. The views are completely breathtaking with panoramic vistas across the island, the ocean, and the jungle canopy. One of those experiences that sounds terrifying until you are up there and then you never want to come down. Books up fast.
Junkyard Theatre Dinner and Show, Set within a creative junkyard-style theatrical environment combining live performance, entertainment, and a full dinner in a way that is completely unlike anything else on the island. If you want something genuinely unexpected for an evening out, this is the answer.
Siam Niramit, One of the most extraordinary cultural shows in all of Thailand, combining a spectacular theatrical performance with a traditional Thai dinner. Hundreds of performers, elaborate costumes, incredible sets, and special effects that bring Thai history and mythology to life. Completely unmissable.
Carnival Magic Phuket, A brilliantly entertaining evening combining a colourful carnival theme park experience with live shows, cultural performances, and a Thai dinner. Perfect for groups and families. Consistently one of the most popular evening experiences in Phuket. Plan ahead.
Phuket Fantasea, One of the most famous evening experiences in Thailand. A jaw-dropping show featuring elephants, acrobatics, fire displays, and traditional Thai culture paired with a huge buffet dinner. The scale of the production is mind-blowing and feels more like a Las Vegas show. Brilliant for everyone.
๐๏ธ Beach and romantic
Romantic Beach Dinner at My Beach Resort, A beautifully set table right on the sand with the sound of the waves, soft lighting, and the warm Phuket night air. The kind of experience people plan proposals around. Every penny of the experience is delivered.
๐ณ Cooking and culture
Thai Cooking Class with Market Visit, One of the most rewarding things you can do in Phuket. You start with a visit to a local market where a chef guide walks you through the herbs, spices, and ingredients that make Thai food extraordinary. Then you cook a full Thai meal from scratch including pad thai, green curry, and mango sticky rice. You eat everything you cook at the end. You will never look at a Thai takeaway the same way again.

๐ฅญ The wild card
Any 7/11 in Thailand, I could not write a Phuket food guide without including this. Thai 7/11 stores are nothing like their Western equivalents. Clean, well stocked, with an extraordinary range of affordable hot food, fresh snacks, cold drinks, and even chlorophyll health drinks you simply cannot find anywhere else. Whether you are grabbing a late night snack after a night out on Bangla Road or a quick breakfast before a big day of exploring, the 7/11 is a genuine institution of Thai life.
